Marketing a Travel Agency

When starting up a travel agency you have to put a lot of thought into what your marketing strategy is going to be. Advertising is going to be a major part of the strategy in order for your business to get noticed.

Even if you have your own travel shop or if you are a home based travel agent you need to advertise in order to attract more customers and make your business grow. In the initial stages you will probably get most of your business from your family and friends but this can only create business for so long. You need to think beyond this. For example, start advertising your business on the Internet, local/national newspapers, holiday magazines, flyers, posters and radio stations. All of these will attract more business in one way or another so it is worthwhile to invest some money in them. The amount you spend will depend on a number of things for instance, the size of the advertisement or how many times it is advertised. It all depends on how much money you can afford to put into the advertising but the more the better.
